No I am not only finding out now that Bioshock 2 has been pushed out to 2010, 2K games has just announced that they are pushing back Bioshock 2 even further now and we are now expecting to return to rapture in the second quarter of 2010.
No reason is being given for the delay but we can presume they are trying to avoid the traffic jam that is now Q1 of 2010 and obviously the more time they have with the title the more they can polish it.
Though to be honest I can’t see how they are going to polish a decidedly dodgy story line and a possibly shoe-horned multiplayer option.
Bioshock 2 needs to pull some PR magic out of their proverbial hat before I start getting excited about it, they just seemed to have lost the magic.

Never have I NOT wanted a sequel to a brilliant game so badly. This reeks of cash-in. I’m90% sure they’ve lost the soul of what made Bioshock so good (brilliant philosophy, brutal atmosphere, questioning humanity, absorbing well realised environment) and just focusing on Plasmid combat.
ALso, what made the big daddies so awesome was the scarcity, the disconnet. Now playing one of them somehow makes them seem less impresive.
Remember, playing superman is no fun.

Cleric couldn’t have said it better. The first Bioshock really blew me away. It wasn’t as open ended as it was hyped to be, but it was arguably one of this decade’s best games. I’m not so sure about the sequel either. There’s just a hint of Halo-esque desperation in sequels. They generally look better, but they’re as soulless as Lindsay Lohen or the GTA4 prostitutes.
