There is a very interesting rumour doing the rounds this morning. A small Czech gaming site (www.hrej.cz) has been speaking to a 2K games insider and apparently Bioshock 2 is going to be a prequel.
The insider is anonymous and the source page is in Czech (?) so I have no idea how authentic this is, but the moment I read that I had to agree that this would be fantastic.
I would love to see how Rapture collapsed and the moments leading up to its demise, so a prequel would work perfectly.
Apparently Bioshock 2 is already in pre-production stage and should be hitting our shelves in the winter of 2009… so still a while.

I was hoping for a prequel!
They can milk this title so hard if they wanted to!
THink: Bioshock – biulding the city (SimCity under the sea), Bioshock, Plasmid Police (RB6 under the sea)… etc etc 😉

Mhhh…. maybe they should sort out the freaking issues with Bioshock’s PC version before starting a new project.
Was totally disappointed by the buggy PC version (I’m not a big fan of FPS on consoles, so didn’t buy the 360 version).

What would be cool is if they had more of an RPG element in the next one. And if they make plasmids more of a necessity as you could easily finish Bioshock without using any plasmids.

hmmm…dubious about this one. I’m sure storyline wise, this could be awesome, but may not translate into a good game. I’m glad that Bioware and Epic are smart enough to realize this and made their prequels as novels.
Now to totally contradict myself, I would LOVE to see another Bioshock game 🙂
