What’s that? Bioshock Infinite happens to be one of the games that you’re looking forward to next year, after the January drought of games. Yessiree, I can’t wait to go into my local games shop at the end of February to pick that up! Well bad news pal, because the game has once again been delayed.
"Let’s start with the bad news," Irrational Games boss Ken Levine said at a media briefing earlier today. "The game has to be the best game it could possibly be," Levine said, as Bioshock Infinite will now ship a month later than planned, on March 26 next year.
When Rod [Fergusson, Epic’s former Production Director] came on the project a couple of months ago – and this dude is living in a hotel nearby because he really wanted to work on Infinite – he really fell in love with the game. But he said, ‘look, Ken, I really think the game would benefit from three or four more weeks’.
But at the end of the day, we’ve got to ship a great game. So if it’s three or four more weeks, then it’s three or four more weeks. So it’s March 26th, now.
Well it still sucks that the game is now being delayed by a month, at least that extra waiting period won’t be too bad. I might have just ruined Fridays with that bit of news. Sorry guys.
