MyGaming-Dota-2-SECS

The first season of the MyGaming Dota 2 SECS is coming to an end, and it’s going to be messy. Some of the country’s most reputable clans will compete for the R2000 prize purse, here are the details and how I think it’ll play out.

Week 4 was a quiet week, with only seven teams entering, and the top two being mixed line-ups anything could happen. Bravado Gaming managed to come out on top again and is now leading the overall scoreboard.

Week 4 Winners Bracket:

Dota 2 SECS Week 4 WB

Week 4 Loser’s Bracket:

Dota 2 SECS Week 4 LB

Even though Bravado Gaming didn’t play in all four weeks of the SECS, they’ve managed to take the top spot, with only a 2 point advantage over Energy eSports. The overall results and standings are as follows:

SECS Finals Sunday, 10 March

Playing in the finals this weekend, the top 8 teams will go head-to-head in a single elimination round. The match will be streamed from 4:45PM on Polarfluke’s TwitchTV channel. Polarfluke’s Matthew “fluke” Merks is the man doing all the organizing and admin around the tournament.

Here are the matchups for the finals:

Bravado Gaming, Energy eSports and Team Immersion have shown some great skill as organized clans and will make for some really intense games, while Matt’s FUN Buddies have been proving that even though they aren’t a big clan name, they have what it takes to compete. The finals will be tough, but I think I know what the results will look like.

My predictions (based on my gut for the most part) are:

  • Round 1 winners: Bravado Gaming, Matt’s FUN Buddies, Energy eSports, Team Immersion
  • Round 2 winners: Bravado Gaming, Energy eSports
  • Overall winners: Bravado Gaming

Predicted standings:

    1. Bravado Gaming
    2. Energy eSports
    3. Team Immersion
    4. Matt’s FUN Buddies
    5. Veneration Esports
    6. ROCC Dota 2
    7. LibertyLan
    8. Ptd

Agree with my predictions? Tell me why you do or don’t in the comments!
