Bungie and Microsoft break up – Rumour

Now everyone take a deep breath before flaming me about rumours, this is a rumour and so far there has been no official confirmation of this from Microsoft or Bungie.

But according to a local Seattle blog Bungie and Microsoft are officially separating today.

So heres my big secret. You should google Bungie + Microsoft + separation this week.
You know that big ol BILLION dollar franchise Bungie has created for Microsoft, to show their appreciate Microsoft is letting Bungie leave. Of course Microsoft gets to keep all rights to the Halo franchise, but as today Bungie no longer part of Microsoft

Don’t get your hopes up of seeing Halo on the PS3 anytime soon but if this rumour is true we can  expect to see some new IP’s coming out of the Bungie stable.

While they may now be allowed to publish on all the platforms I personally don’t see them doing that to Microsoft anytime soon, remember it is Microsoft’s platform that sent Bungie from being a virtual unknown to one of the top development houses in the world.

Bungie Leaving Microsoft!! You heard it here first folks

Good hunting to Bungie if these rumours are true. At least they kept their true word and delivered a flagship title to the X360 the same way they did for the Xbox. 🙂

Lazy said: “remember it is Microsoft’s platform that sent Bungie from being a virtual unknown to one of the top development houses in the world.” Well, Bungie can easily say: “it is our game that gave Microsoft any credibility in the gaming market and made the xbox a viable option” 😉 . Imagine the Xbox without Halo. Just. Imagine.

Um, I’m never one to say “impossible”, but this goes in the “it’s even bad for a fake rumour” pile.

    1. Microsoft owns 100% of Bungie
    2. Bungie makes them ooooodles of moola.

I could quite possible see them letting them spread there wings with say developing a DS game (like rare are doing), but why would MS sell them?
