Capcom steals own artwork from IGN for Okami box.

I admit that I often lend images from other websites when publishing articles, it seems to be the norm on the Internet and not really such a bad thing…

However what is very common is that sites slap a watermark on any images that they put together or were the first to publish. So that they get free marketing as the image does the rounds..

What is incredible though is that Capcom decided to swipe an image from IGN and make it their box art for their new games, what they missed though was the secret IGN logo still on the image…

Now how’s that for embarrassing?

This is bizarre, I cant see how they could use a web based image for box art, surely the res wouldnt be print suitable?

I am presuming here that IGN had a high definition image on their site as well…

otherwise you are quite correct and it would look awful..

You never know, maybe IGN paid them to do it 😉

I guess a game isn’t the same if other people are enjoying it as well… Sony bastards.

No ways a website would have had a HD image, a box art quality image would easily be a few megs, hardly web friendly. Something weird about this!!

    Hmm good point…

I am going to guess here that IGN branded a high definition image and then for some obscure reason Capcom asked them for the images back?

    It makes no sense though?

Perhaps it’s not the whole image?

Possibly just part of the background?

Alternatively the guy that created the original image is hosing himself right now . . . .

Dude that’s really spiteful and kind of childish.
Oh I forgot, this is a open forum and it is quite possible that not everyone is an adult.
