Castle Crashers

Congratulations to Behemoth, the creators of Castle Crashers, for picking up the Xbox Live Arcade Game of the Year award for 2008… and Best Original Game… and Best co-op Mode.

Though you have to say that the last one only counts after the latest patch was applied as before that it was a complete abomination of a co-op title.

It was a bit of a surprise to see Braid only pick up the “Best Innovation” award while Portal picked up “Best Single-Player Game”.

The other major winner in the awards was Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, or SSTFTTHR for short, which managed to pick up awards for Best Graphics, Best Remake and Best Versus Mode.

A Kingdom for Keflings made a showing with Best Family Game to round up the awards.

I personally wouldn’t have given Street Fighter Best Graphics ahead of Brad nor do I think that Best Remake is a category that is worthy of existence… but apart from that I think the winners are all deserving of their titles.

Lets hope this year eclipses them all in every way.
