The reports have been coming in all through November of the PS3 beating the Wii in weekly sales.

Well it is now official and the PS3 has sold more units in a month than the Wii for the first time since launch.

In November the Wii moved 159,193 units while the PS3 moved 183,217 units. They don’t even mention the 360 sales….

This is quite a turn around since the PS3 was being outsold 6:1 earlier this year…

Am i correct in saying that this is the first time that any console has beaten the Wii in ANY territory since the launch of the Wii?

I don’t think Nintendo are too scared about this. They cannot even make that damn thing quickly enough.

This is great for Sony and will really help offset the US sales, but damn the Wii is amazing, i think if they didn’t sell a another console they would still end up with huge profits from the Wii.

I still say the wii is a gimmick, that thing gets boring so quickly (IMO)

@ Abev: Have you played Super Mario Galaxy? Or Zelda: Twilight Princess? 2 of the top 5 games across all gen-now consoles can hardly be called gimmicky 🙂 . The Wii in and of itself may be a gimmick but Nintendo first party laughs in the face of both Microsoft Game Studios and Sony’s game studios.
