Crysis 2 Announced – Consoles Included

EA have just announced Crysis 2 for Consoles as well as PC.

We all know from the videos a while back that Crytek had developed the CryEngine 3 and that it was also developed for consoles.

While many thought that the Crysis brand would stay exclusive to the PC, with a possible announcement of a new IP (intellectual property), this announcement means that the Crysis franchise will be moving onto consoles as well.

What would be nothing short of fantastic would be if Crytek was able to port the first Crysis directly into the new engine and then release it in a bundle with Crysis 2. Only in dreams, perhaps.

There is no major information on the titles just yet, so stay tuned and we will bring you more information as it becomes available.

I think it goes without saying that the Wii has been excluded from the line-up, maybe if Nintendo does reveal an all-poweful HD Wii one day then it will become a possibility.

They must do 1 and 2 for the consoles … and bundle it together like Riddick.

Well, they did not date it… so it may be only 2011 on the 360 and PS3…

well crysis2 can’t be that far off… seeing as the game is intended to run as a trilogy, and we are over two years since crysis1 was released.

unless they aiming for long dev cycles, which i highly doubt.

i reckon cryengine3 is pegged for a new ip, and they’ve managed to get cryengine2 to run on consoles.

    just a theory
