As you should by now already know after reading Nick’s post, Crysis 2 is said to be released on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 as well as the PC. That’s right gamers, since Electronic Arts Inc. announced yesterday that they have agreed to a deal extension with Crytek GmbH to publish Crysis 2.

Crytek GmbH are the award-winning developers behind the Crysis® universe. They’re a world-leading independent developer of interactive entertainment and dedicated to creating cutting edge and high quality video games for PC and next-gen consoles. Their titles are all powered by their very own beyond awesome piece of 3D-Game-Technology CryENGINE®. They have been behind some award-winning PC titles like Far Cry & the original Crysis. If you remember: Crysis was awarded by E3 2007 as best PC game and won best tech at the 2008 Game Developers Choice Awards). IGN Best of 2008 Awards honored Crysis Warhead® with the title of Best Graphics Technology.

Cevat Yerli, CEO and president of Crytek stated that,

This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it’s the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3. We are excited to have the support of EA Partners again as we work together to make the launch of Crysis 2 a huge event.

David DeMartini, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA Partners also expressed his sentiments with,

Nothing speaks more to the success of the EA Partners program than when a studio the caliber of Crytek continues to work with us… Crytek is already one of the elite PC development studios in the world and we are excited to have the opportunity to partner with them in bringing their award-winning technology and gameplay to more platforms and a wider audience with Crysis 2.

So yeah I’m sure you’ve noticed Wii’s lack of mention regarding the game. Well that’s because Nintendo still hasn’t released one hellova awesome HD resolution Wii (well none that I know of but then again I’m not really a Wii kinda guy). But I most certaintly can’t wait for these guys to really kick into developing some insane titles for our consoles.
