“Are you ready”, I ask the audience, while the Degeneration X music starts up. “Ready for more zombies? Zombies not only on your PC, but on your consoles as well?”, I ask the now excited crowd. Well, seeing as how Arma 2 mod DayZ has proven to be a massive success so far, it’s only natural that the game might just appear on other platforms.

Dean Hall, the project lead on the hyper real zombie simulator, spoke to Joystiq at Gamescom, about how he was seeking to do just that, as he’s busy meeting with console-makers right now.

You’re not going to put it on the consoles if you’re only going to sell 100,000 units or something like that,” Hall said.”DayZ will be driven by its PC development and it will innovate on that. And, once we’re at a point, we’ll take it and do a Mac version, 360 and PS3.”

The DayZ mod currently has over a million players signed up for it. We think that Hall should have no problem finding someone to take DayZ from mod to game. How about you guys, would you pay to play DayZ over the PSN or Xbox Live?
