Destiny players are killing themselves in the Crimson Doubles exploit

Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, That I shall say good night till it be morrow. For never was a story of more woe than this of a Guardian and her Ghost! This week, everybody is celebrating the month of loooooove in Destiny, thanks to a new event that pairs Guardians up for a little bit of Crucible action and vengeance.

Crimson Days is here, and while the rewards are mostly cosmetic fluff, there is one item in particular that lovestruck Guardians are after: A Ghost shell that boats 320 Light. Star-crossed lovers need to pray to the random number generator cupids that they’ll be fortunate enough to receive the Valentine’s Day themed gift once a round ends, or all that death and destruction will be for nothing.

But in typical Destiny fashion, there’s already an exploit that can be used to guarantee Guardians getting their hands on that crimson Ghost shell. It’s pretty simple really, and something that Geoff tells me to do quite often: Just kill yourself. Yes, by simply flinging yourself off of a nearby ledge in true Shakespearian/Nicholas Sparks style, you can quickly end a round of Crimson Days and find yourself being rewarded.

Is it worth it? You bet your Titan ass it is, as getting Oryx to drop a 320 Light level Ghost shell is harder than keeping the EFF quiet in parliament. It’s also the most wonderfully apt description of Destiny in its current state, as Guardians are literally hurling themselves to their doom just so that they can get their hands on some decent content.
