Sony has been showing one of it’s premier titles, Gran Turismo 5, at E3 this year and as expected it is looking pretty awesome.
The most exciting part of the video for me is seeing the crash damage on some of the vehicles which is something that was sorely missing in the prologue that was released previously.
Another exciting thing to see is that Sony have apparently secured the NASCAR and WRC licences, though I haven’t seen any official press releases to confirm that just yet.
So you tell me, does it look like it’s worth the 3 year wait?

the fact that they managed to get those extra licences definitely makes up for the wait. i mean think how huge this game is gonna be.

its a bit outdated – http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/nascar-game-license-may-go-nonexclusive/?biz=1
not sure what the outcome was, but looking at gt5’s trailer, one would have to assume it did nonexclusive.

NASCAR and WRC licenses do not justify the wait for this game. By the time it is released it will already be outdated. Turn10 will have managed to put out 2 GT challengers (with damage btw) by the time GT5 arrives. Plus it will have drift, drag, oval and other race modes – not just plain old track racing like GT.

Here’s a tip, watch F1 rather
Does every single NASCAR race still involve going around in circles (turning left all the way) for a few hundred laps?

hey don’t knock nascar. its not all bad…
but i have to agree, f1 is by far a better for viewers, although its more than likely that f1 wont be around as we know it for much longer.
