tarp_lightGeoff Keighley has just been spotted twittering that Nintendo’s Wii area is completely covered in light blue tarps and is under heavy security.

Which is a very odd thing seeing that no one is really expecting Nintendo to announce anything this year, would they go through all this effort just to hide some Zelda posters or are they about to pull a major announcement out of nowhere?

Unfortunately it will more than likely be a let down but we can’t help but be excited about any secretive, groundbreaking announcements.

Really? How is nobody expecting some kinda big announcement? Nintendo’s self-sustaining momentum isn’t eternal. They HAVE to annouce something. I’ll keep my hopes up… and not really for me, but for all those gamers who own only a Wii. New Mario or Zelda, say I.

  • easy

they’ll be launching their second iteration of the wii, speculation is still rife to what the console designation will be. a clue to the name might stem from the code name for the project, which is ‘number two’.

In economics terms, that would be HUGE! ๐Ÿ™‚ No, really.

  • agreed, Nintendogs is pretty much the new ‘Pokemon’ for their handhelds. They have yet to attempt that IP for the Wii.

(not sure if that would be a good idea though, i think a big part of the appeal was that it made really good use of the DS, and may not translate well).
