Hasbro Family Game Night

The much publicised Hasbro Family Game Night on the XBLA has finally arrived and it’s not making friends straight of the bat.

When it was first announced we thought we would be getting Yahtzee, Boggle, Scrabble, Connect 4, Battleship, Sorry! and Sorry! Sliders all in one compendium of games however that doesn’t seem to be the case.

When you access the Hasbro FGN you are then given the opportunity of downloading AND paying for each and everyone of those titles separately at a price tag of around R96 each.

Which means if you wanted to pick up all the titles you are looking at just shy under R700, or the price of a brand new AAA title. That just doesn’t seem right.

Personally I find this disappointing as EA have been so good recently at keeping the cost of gaming down and they appear to have just lost the plot on this one.

The solution is simple enough though, vote with your wallets and don’t spend R96 on a Battleship game for XBLA…

I will pay 800 points for al the games in one package. 800 to play Scrabble with US english will be to mind numbing.

I dunno – how can New Zealanders spell when they don’t know when to capitalize proper nouns?
