Everybody calm down! PSN hack claim was totally fake

Hacking group Anonymoose, I mean Anonymous boldly claimed that they had hacked the PlayStation Network, again. The group proudly posted a tweet linking to a document of the data they farmed, including e-mail addresses and other encrypted information.

Unfortunately for them and contributing to our lulz, Sony had responded to IGN confirming that the claim is absolutely false. “We’ve confirmed that the recent claim that PlayStation Network was illegally hacked and that customer passwords and email addresses were accessed is completely false.” Sony commented.

As the drama unravelled while some on the net had entered a frenzy, Kotaku pointed out that the document linked in the tweet appeared to be identical to the one posted in the internet back in March.

Since revealing that the post was a hoax, Anonymous has deleted the tweet.
