Fake reviews on Entertainment Africa

Doh... facts bah... Sometimes you really do have to wonder what people are thinking when they start a business idea.

Telkom Media’s flagship site EntertainmentAfrica is possibly one of the best looking sites in the country and it works really really well. Well that is if you don’t actually read any of the drivel that they post on the site.

I posted before about how they managed to make Halo 2: Orange Box their game of the week and after that they did seem to get the majority of stories right but now they have gone and done it again.

Not only have they just announced to the world that Metal Gear Solid 4 has been released (pity no one told Konami or Sony) they have also had the opportunity to review it and now we can rest in peace knowing that

Metal Gear Solid 4 rounds out the Metal Gear saga with a fittingly cinematic and gripping final outing.

But why stop there, now that you have read their insightful review they can recommend some other great similar titles like Ninja Reflex for the Wii and Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia? Not sure how they make the link there…..

So are any of you suprised to see that a Telkom run company is not entirely sure about what they are doing?

Nice work naming and shaming such reviews. Personally, I tend to trust international reviews more though.

    Like gamespot :p….

A good rule of thumb is generally to not review a game before you play it… I find it works quite well 🙂

Who knows, maybe next month they will say it is released on the XBox 360. 🙂

BTW I tried to buy the game by clicking on their links – no luck though…

Har, I also tried to see if I could purchase it as well. I guess all of us can’t be winners!

    Hi All

Firstly apologies for the error, this was caused my a ‘moved’ release date and therefore the site automatically putting the release into OUT NOW rather than COMING SOON. There is no review in existance as yet, but rather an official press release.

EntertainmentAfrica.com would welcome reviews and editorial from the gaming community in SA and will be happy to give full author’s credits. It is a wonderful platform in order to get ‘heard’ from and there are many contributors but is often difficult to give full justice to the various areas of expertise required within gaming. If anyone would like to review games and get them published, EntertainmentAfrica will glady appreciate your expert opinions and views and can even organise the loaning of games for review. Also, if you have news pieces or general gaming chit-chat you want published.. please send through to games@entertainmentafrica.co.za

    Best

    Tim
