An Italian film-maker has created a really awesome Final Fantasy VII – The Movie live-action teaser and plans to raise funds to create the full movie. I do approve.

Gionata Medeot has kicked off the project of creating this film and hopes to get Square Enix’s blessing. “my lady Tifa knows Hironobu Sakaguchi and when we finish the teaser we’ll send it to him and we hope to be blessed; if not we’ll put it on YouTube equally and fingers crossed.” He commented.

News about the project has started to rapidly spread with over 30 000 views on the Youtube video and over 5 000 likes on its Facebook page.

In general, I hate videogame – movie tie-ins. They’re usually just so bad and cheesy and bad. But I really, truly hope that Medeot and his justice league can and will create something worth watching. I think the thing that could make this film a success, is that Medeot seems to be a real Final Fantasy fan and actually has knowledge about the franchise, unlike other directors who just see a story and make things up as they go along. Key is good acting and interpretation. If they don’t get famousHollywoodstars to act in the film, it should be a step in the right direction.

What do you think? Yay or nay?
