Ubisoft have released a bunch of direct feed screenshots for the new Prince of Persia game.

The images are looking really good and I must say that the art style chosen seems to work very well. They seem to have done a good job of making the “comic book” art style work really well, it looks similar to what was done in Crackdown, but the execution seems to have a much better feel to it.

Let’s hope that the game plays as good as it looks.

  1. You look at those screenshots and tell me game dev is not art? The more the mainstream media recognise games as an art form and the more AAA titles have an art direction, the more prepared publishers will be prepared to risk creative development and support the indy community.

    It’s all good.

I think as games starting moving away from trying to duplicate reality and rather try reinterpreting it, games will start to be taken more seriously as art.

That’s something thats always been on my mind. Why make games look real when you can make the look cool? Do Hollywood movies look like the drab world you see outside your window. Of course not, they use filters and effects to make reality look more exciting and better.
