Rumours were true – European pre-ordered Xbox Ones will include Fifa 14 for free! Microsoft also announced that they will have exclusive content for FIFA 14.  Presenters kept repeating, football has a new home on Xbox.

The game will be releasing in September on Xbox 360 and later for Xbox One.  When it releases on Xbox One, you will be able to make use of players old and new in the Ultimate Team Legends.  This should appeal to the rabid football fans among you – now you can settle once and for all which veteran players are better than current players.  Sounds like a cool options – definitely a nice exclusive for Xbox One.

So, not only will they be including a game which has been out 2 months already, their ‘offer’ now means I am being forced not only to pay for an accessory I don’t want, but also a game I will never play. They just don’t think things through for the consumer.

Exactly you are pretty spoiled for choice when it comes to gaming.

My bad, the ‘forced’ reference was regarding the lack of consumer choice when buying an xbox one, not in terms of the overall market. Microsoft are forcing me down the route of paying for things I don’t want, or not getting one at all. With regards to just this console, it is another poor marketing choice imo. It is a shame as I have always bought the xbox, primarily for the Halo series, but in pursuit of profits and stubbornness (if Kinect was that good, people would buy one anyway) Microsoft are pushing some customers away.

It isn’t so much a whinge (as I will likely buy the PS4 instead) as an anecdote-based social commentary based on the friends and colleagues who, as it stands, will be switching allegiance to Sony.

I am the residential Fifa fan on here…. I think that is one hell of a good idea!! There is currently just over 1.6m people who have played a live season match on Fifa 13 on Xbox 360!! And there are a hole heap of players who don’t play seasons and only play FUT….. Great idea!! This might actually make a great difference in which next gen console I pick up if this will be heading to SA!!!
