Gears 3 to be demonstrated at GDC?

48 second read

Epic have announced that they will be showcasing the new Unreal Engine 3 at GDC this year.

The last time Epic showcased their engine we got a close look in at the upcoming Gears of War 2 and as such we are expecting some awesome insight into the upcoming Gears of War 3 super engine…

Though I have to admit I am not sure what else I want from the engine itself, I felt the multitude of enemies in the Gears of War 2 was good but nothing spectacular and the graphics are simply awesome.

The only issue with Gears 2 is the idiotic matchmaking nonsense and that isn’t the Unreal Engines fault.

So what do we want from this new engine?

No its too sooon. I promised myself I would finish seriously … but i still have 196 000 kills to go….

I love gears 2, my only gripe is the HORRIFIC lobby system.

I was also thinking, it would be nice if they added, as a side feature, a large-scale battle mode, similar to the Onslaught game type found in Unreal Tournament 2004?

    4player co-op.
that would make GEARS3 super awesome.

GFX was good, not awesome. Now with the PS3 stretching its muscle Epic will have to really up their ante to show that the 360 can at least match it (exclusive wise of course).

Definatly too soon for Gears 3

  • Agreed, but it probably won’t be out until at least 2010.

  • I was playing KZ2 online, then tried the Geow2 looks like crap compard to KZ2.They shouldve waitd for UE4 instead.

  • That is so cool, They have time to improve in the gameplay…

I wouldnt be suprized if MS is putting pressure on EPIC once again to get the title out ASAP, just to stay ahead of SONY. But once again i think GeOW 3 will worked out they’re mistake with the match making problem…. I hope…
