Final-Fantasy-X

I miss Final Fantasy. I’m not trying to sound like a fanboy here, but the latest attempts have felt like hollow shells of the original, wrapped up in some purdy visuals. The last Final Fantasy that really tugged at my heart-strings was X, and much like any other decent game from an older era, it’s making the transition to widescreen.

And it looks like the rumours of Final Fantasy X including the sequel, X-2, are also true. Both of the games will be using the international masters of the original game, and will be due out sometime later in the year.

While I absolutely hated Tidus in FFX, I loved the majority of that game. It was a next-gen title back then, that included such revolutionary ideas such as including actual voices in a FF game, alongside a fantastic journey to save the world.

The sequel was a bit more silly, and had a combat system that was merely an excuse for some visual eye-candy, but combined with a more free-roaming experience, it was still pretty decent overall. I’m looking forward to these games, How about you?

  1. FFX was good… Really Good…

Then the sonafabitches went and started down shittysequel lane with X-2…. Ever since then it has been nothing but rubbish….

I agree that Tidus was not the most lovable character, however…. he is still Way better than Lightning is….

And to be able to get X in HD on the PS3…… That can work… budget be damned

To a degree I could handle Lightning… Now that moaning Vanille…. I muted the game every time that winey ginger came on…. I don’t know if she was designed to be annoying and pathetic…

I have never been so close to swear off FF,as I was with that game…

Gods, I am actually now remembering that I used Lightening as a Logic Block for my utter hate towards Vanille. You… are… bringing… MEMORIES BACK! AHHHHHH!

Can I be really honest here – and maybe a bit of a rude b*stard, but –
I don’t really see a big difference between the “Remastered” version and the original, GFX wise.

Sure, if you somehow lost the original disc, or just want to play it again, go for it, but…is it really warranting the hype surrounding it ?

    I dunno. 😛

Sigh, I realise now, that every Final Fantasy article is destined to be vomited with hatred for 13 in the comment section. (and I take part in it…. sigh…)

Indeed, It’s sad, but it just shows how much that game divided the FF community

Now this will be a system seller. Not because I screamed for SONY to do it 4 months ago and it made flipping sense but because a handheld is good with RPG games.

Im almost SOLD and would love to play this while ESKOM gives us shit this Winter but Im not interested in being on-line and the machine probably requires a million updates to work.

Must say I was hoping for more FF XIII-type graphics, but this should still be awesome. X-2 is one of my favourite games. Heck, my dog is called Yuna. Bring on the HD remake!
