Gameplayer.com.au has a very nice article explaining why there has been such a media backlash against Sony in this generation and how if they don’t deliver on Home it may be the last straw for many.
However it is by far all doom and gloom, if Sony deliver on Home and by all counts we have no reason to expect them not to then this may be the application that cattapults them back to the top of the pile.
Personally the whole idea of Home / Second Life / WoW / The Sims completely bores me. But I do know I am in the minority on that front. Will Home win this generation for them?
Very possibly, even without games Home makes the PS3 an exciting prospect for the millions of MMORPG fans out there. There are enough of them to really push Sony to the top of the pile

I honestly dont have time to mingle in RPG-like settings for my home character. Why try the fancy when they can try to give the PS3 folk something like LIVE?

I agree, it totally sounds lame.
But feel i’m in the minority on this one.
