I got to play Far Cry 4 at Gamescom, and I was rather impressed with it. I wasn’t all that blown away at first; it seemed like more of the same – but after some quiet reflection, I realised there was more to it. There’s a far broader range of skills and tools at your disposal, suited to pathed playing – what it just needs now, is to ensure it tells a compelling and interesting story.
With Troy “I’m in everything” Baker providing the voice for balmy bad guy Pagan Min, we’re pretty convinced it’ll be quite entertaining. Here’s a video with Executive producer Dan Hay, creative director Alex Hutchinson and art director Joshua Cook explaining how the game was designed to allow players to tackle the game in whatever manner they choose.
They also show off some of that crimson-hued, otherworldly Shangri-La stuff – and discussed the game’s more inclusive co-op, which allows you to do any of the open world, non single-player campaign with a friend. Remember, if you get the game on a Sony platform, you’ll be able to invite a friend to play the open world shenanigans even if they don’t own the game.
“Explore the harrowing heights of the Himalayas and the hidden reaches of Shangri-La in Far Cry 4, the ambitious open world experience. The developers at Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto take us inside their design philosophies when crafting the dangerous yet beautiful world of Kyrat. Far Cry 4 launches November 18th for PS4 and PS3.”

I have always wanted the game to just have more leveling and gathering elements.
Far Cry 3 I had almost all the upgrades and the story wasn’t even 20% or something. Same with AC. I had the best sword at like 10 minutes into the game. I want MORE! Skills, items etc… DO IT!

Actually, although I loved Far Cry 3, it was the easiest game I’ve ever 100%ed.

Well it was really early into the game. It was the first town. It could not have been more than an hour. I am thinking 30 minutes.

I read somewhere you could only play 2 hours coop? Pretty sure that is nonsense but would suck if true.

Nah I think that is related to PS4 co-op, it`s an option where if say, you bought far cry 4 for your PS4, but you have a friend with a PS4 that you want to play co-op with but he doesn`t own the game, then you can invite him to play co-op with you, without him owning the game, but then there`s the time limit. I am not one hundred percent sure about this, mainly because I don`t care (I`m a PC Gamer xD) but I do recall reading something like that somewhere.

I’m quite looking forward to this. In all honesty, I’ve enjoyed each iteration of Far Cry for different reasons:
Far Cry – new and exciting open world FPS that looked amazing for its time.
Far Cry 2 – Will never forget the first time I was sneaking up on a base camp, opened fire and then suddenly heard Afrikaans swearing… I had to stop playing, I was laughing so much! Was a decent FPS (it had its flaws, but it was fun to play mostly).
Far Cry 3 – Felt like it took ‘open world’ a bit further and gave me more freedom than the previous games. Thoroughly enjoyed my time with Far Cry 3 and its one of those games I was sad when I completed it because it meant it was over. Great, fun game!

But I don’t think Enemy Within is included in that, which is a really good expansion. If you’re thinking of getting those wait until the last day, XCOM franchise might go on sale for a better price the next couple of days.

After original Far Cry I completely lost interest that game was great these new Far Cry games are just plain boring, they might improved the gameplay and the whole leveling thing but my problem is the story first one had hidden island with genetic made monsters mistery now it’s just like shoot shoot on a cool looking island playing as some stupid kid who never held a gun and all of a sudden he becomes super badass(Far Cry 3) come on…
