Well at least according to the out of touch hosts of the Today Show, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, alongside their guest for the day Donny Deutsch. The three of them were fielding questions from callers, when one viewer asked, "What’s up with men and video games? Do you think it’s okay for men to play video games in their 30s and over?", to which Gifford replied "No, that’s weird… Xbox".

Deutsch then proceeded to chime in, "No. The answer’s no. When you’re in your thirties, there should be something more on your mind, your attention, than video games”. While the trio agreed that playing games with children was fine, they seemed to be particularly puzzled by the idea that men over the age of 30 would take their gaming habits so seriously, with Kotb asking, “But what about those guys, I’m talking about those weird ones in the basement”.

Despite their lack of knowledge on the subject, studies in the USA alone show that the average gamer is 37 years old, with the games being bought most frequently by people who are 41 years old, and that 42% of gamers are female.

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia’s M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!

This was posted 6 years ago, and it’s amazing to think how out-of-touch the botox squad on the Today Show was. Of course, attitudes towards gamers merely worsened over the years, as the mainstream media lost their minds, and forgot one of the most basic tenets of journalism – CHECK YO FACTS, BITCHES!
