Well that is the rumour at least. The next PS3 update (v2.0) will include browser improvements, moving icons for movies and games (?) and a choice of getting Home.
What I don’t understand is if Home is such a great new feature for the PS3 why is it optional? That has never been Sony’s strategy before and personally I don’t see it happening now.
I am guessing Home will be released with the version 2 firmware update but I don’t expect the next update to be version 2…. Hedging my bets so to say 😉
So who is looking forward to downloading a couple of hundred megs so that you can dance around a virtual world?

Well to me home looks like a pure online thing , and at the moment lots of ps3’s arent even online , so that is probably why it is optional.

🙂 But I would take a guess that 100% of all PS3’s that connect to the internet to download the update are online…
Oh wait you can download from a pc and transfer the update as well…. Okay so 80% then 😉

Coupla hundred meg, Lazy? The way downloads on Live and PSN are at the moment with just demos is suggestive that it may lean towards a gig or two. Oh, well, it should be interesting…now if only more South African’s got on PSN…
