Is Lost Planet 2 an Xbox 360 Exclusive?

We posted recently that Lost Planet 2 had been announced via Xbox Live of all places – Well it seems that Lost Planet 2/Xbox connection runs a little deeper. We’ve received the official Lost Planet 2 press release, and it appears – in loose PR speak – that Lost Planet 2 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.

According to the release “…Lost Planet® 2 is being developed for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, following an exclusive announcement on Xbox LIVE that happened Monday, February 23.”

This is disparate to statements from Capcom to the contrary – they’ve pledged that “All major titles launched during the next fiscal year or thereafter will be developed as multi-platform games."

I suspect it may be a timed exclusive, although I’m not too sure many PS3 owners really care, considering how badly the original Lost Planet was ported to their system of choice.

What the press release has confirmed is that Lost Planet 2 – the first game developed using Capcom’s 2nd generation of their MT Framework – will indeed have 4 player co-op, which puts it very close to the top of my “must have” list.

It is still one of my favourite games. I actually preferred it to Gears of War.

The original only sold well because the Xbox 360 hardly had any good games back in early 2007.

So the answer is yes but only if I pretend there aren’t any other games?
