It's a Race… LittleBigPlanet Demo

The biggest question hanging over LBP at the moment is how exactly will the gameplay work after you have created a level in the game.

Well in this dev video we see how easy it is to create a race and then how the game actually works. I have to say it worries me that 3 of the sackboys disappeared and then appeared to die while we were stuck watching one of them.

I am not sure how it picks which one to way though as the second time this happens we ended up watching a different one?

The guys all sounded like they were having a whale of a time and obviously the level needs some improving but I can’t say that this video eased any of those longevity fears that exist.

Saying that however I am still addicted to N+ and in that game all you do is collect little gold squares and go through doors…. simplicity is often the best idea.

Then would you like to explain the following?

    1. Why did the other three die when they left the screen?
    2. How did we end up watching someone else’s screen?

Watch again closely, as they get to the rocket cars three of them shoot off to the right and we are stuck watching the green sackboy. Then they all respawn and three of them get on the last remaining rocket car and shoot off and we are left watching Tron sackboy.

Or would someone like to point out where I went wrong watching this video?

    Are you sure they died?
Could they maybe have just finished the race and got spawned at the guy who hadn’t finished the race?
The camera seemed to stay with the guy who still had to get into the rocket car?

Eh well it ain’t really rocket science. It’s obvious it’s a 4 player multi player game and we’re seeing one persons screen in that video. Three of them shoot of into the distance while one is stuck. Now those other three dies. Maybe a land mine? Obstacle? Maybe a crash? And hey presto they respawn at a respawning point.

I don’t know, I played COD4 online the other night. One of my team mates ran out of my sight and of from my screen. When I caught up with him he was dead and respawned at the respawning point. Damn, this game must be buggy lol wut?

    What Bully beef said.

? Did you miss point number 2?

Watch the video again you end up watching a different sackboy.

In other words it’s not the same player the second time around.

True they may not have died, but it’s still odd that the camera didn’t follow them across the screen until they won.

I am sure there is a simple solution here, but it ain’t the one being given by Bully Beef and kabraal

Sigh, I don’t know. Perhaps the camera swicthed from on persons to another? Film editing ftw!

This game must be buggy then.

I didn’t say buggy. I said I didn’t know how it chose which one to follow. I am pretty sure that part of the game is not going to be buggy.

So relax and enjoy your weekend
