It’s Official – Capcom Distribution Sorted

We posted recently that the Capcom deal was signed and sorted – but were lacking anything official. We’re happy to report that it is now indeed rather official, thanks to a press release from Capcom.

CAPCOM APPOINTS NEW DISTRIBUTOR FOR SOUTH AFRICA

– Nu Metro Interactive confirmed as distribution partner –

London 11 February, 2009 – Capcom today announced that it has appointed Nu Metro Interactive as the sole distributor of its titles in South Africa. The agreement is effective immediately and will see Nu Metro Interactive be responsible for the distribution, sales and marketing for Capcom’s releases in this territory.
Nu Metro Interactive will launch the distribution relationship with the highly anticipated Street Fighterâ„¢IV and Resident Evilâ„¢ 5 which are scheduled for release for both Sony Computer Entertainment’s PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3â„¢) and the Xbox 360â„¢ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on February 20th and March 13th respectively and Dead Risingâ„¢: Chop Till You Drop due for release for the Nintendo Wii on February 27th. In addition Nu Metro Interactive will also handle distribution for MotoGPâ„¢ on the Nintendo Wii and Neopets® Puzzle Adventure scheduled for release on the Nintendo Wii and DS plus PC platforms.

We wish Nu-Metro Interactive well with regards to this particular endeavour. We’ll be trying our best to get confirmed release dates and recommended retail pricing on the hugely anticipated Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5.

    Look i’m not the biggest fan of SK,but i don’t see how nu-metro getting the distribution rights is a good thing. Their cinema’s are seriously over priced and i’ve rented nu-metro distributed dvd where u can see the ign logo on some of the trailers on the dvd. Imo this is not a good thing.
