Ju-On: The Grudge knows who you really are

There are certain things that get games a lot of publicity, obviously the big one is sex or nudity which if you put it in your game every single website on the planet will try and find a reason to write about it.

The other is humour, everyone likes a good pay off line and the makers of Ju-On: The Grudge have realised this. If you haven’t heard of it Ju-On is an action/horror title in the same vein as Silent Hill, with a dash of QTE Heavy Rain and then some Far Cry 2 thrown in for good measure.

While your brain tries to figure that out I will take this moment to sneak in that I hate horror games and movies… I have never seen the fascination of scaring the crap out of oneself and if the game/movie doesn’t scare you then what is the point of actually experiencing it?

Anyway back to the point, to avoid Ju-On becoming yet another B rated horror title the developers have added in something unique. A personalised insult mechanism.

By measuring how aptly you played the title and how much exploring you did down dark dingy corridors it manufactures the perfect insult for you.

For example the UGO guys were testing the game out and after he died the following popped up

“A total wuss. That’s what you are. Zero courage. Why don’t you lock yourself in your bedroom and write poetry or something.”

It may be entirely accurate but it’s also funny as hell and I for one may even consider playing the game to see what kind of insult it can come up with for me.

Or more likely I am going to get Nick to review it by himself in the middle of the night so I can hear him squeal over Skype in the safety of my daytime home.
