For those who don’t know, Justin Carmical aka JewWario on Youtube died on the 23rd of January by suicide as confirmed by his wife on Facebook. He had quite a following on Youtube and was known for his “you can play this” series. He is also noted as one of the first active gamers on Youtube back in 2006 when the site started to take off.

Since his death, a large number of people have expressed their sympathies and sorrows on Youtube in memory of Carmical, as well as forums and sites all around the net. A fundraiser has been started to pay for funeral expenses, and donating the excess to his wife Jennifer and their daughter.

I was on the fence about writing this article. I didn’t know him personally and I didn’t watch him on Youtube. But I thought maybe if I brought attention to his videos and how many people he made happy, then I’d be making a positive difference. I heard about the news because several friends brought it to my attention and were deeply affected by his passing. It makes me sad when anyone feels like the only way out is to purposely end their lives.

As always if you know someone who struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts or you yourself are dealing with similar issues, we at Lazygamer urge you to find help or confide in someone who can get you help. My condolences to his wife, family and friends who are dealing with these awful circumstances. I hope fans of Carmical appreciate this article as a tribute to him.

This really hit me hard, alot of the circumstances sounded so freaking similar to my life, and since i was someone who watched him as well, it was just a perfect storm of shit.

If you happen to watch the video stephen attached to the article, i am the one in the middle (expressed their sympathies). I feel this very deeply. RIP Justin, you deserve peace, just like the rest of us.

R.I.P … Again, These types of things should not be taken lightly…It’s the internet so we usually brush it off, but making fun of depression and suicide and making as if it is nothing more than joke should frowned upon…I hope those left behind may find peace…This is really sad news, especially the way it went down

i dont think the donations should go to his wife, isnt that the reason he commited suicide because they were getting a divorce? i could be wrong but he quit wearing his wedding ring. it should go into some sort of fund for the kid to be able to have at a certain age. anyways rest in peace, i really hate to see a fellow gamer go. i saw some of his vids not to long ago and enjoyed them

I think the point he is trying to make is that the fund should be set up in a way that she can’t use the funds for herself and only for the child?

But yeah this is an extremely touchy subject. Sad news indeed

How can anyone know that it was because of his wife that he committed suicide? No,, just no, she was talking to him right outside the door when he committed the act. People don’t commit suicide because of simple divorce so nobody can fucking judge the woman over rubbish that is completely without evidence. It’s as if his wife were a golddigger trying to make money off her husbands death. Honestly, if you believe so shut up and f*** you. Putting the blame on someone will not fix any problems and it is not considerate, it is mean spirited.
RIP to Justin and my sympathies lie with his family and friends and all his fans.

I didn’t say that was the reason at all. I just said we need to make sure that they money goes towards the child.

Sure we would want everyone to be nice and life to be perfect, but it isn’t. Life is mean spirited and you know if you can’t accept it when people mention how shit people can be then “shut up and f*** you”

Why? What evidence do you have that she’s done anything malicious to warrant treating her with such suspicion? Because she’s a woman, who happens to be involved in a divorce? So what? People get divorced for all sorts of reasons.

You obviously don’t get the general idea that we aren’t talking about her. I am saying the child needs to be protected. I don’t care who she is.

because a close friend of mine commited suicide over his wife leaving him. the person i knew loved his wife and his kid so much that when she decided to just up and leave him it was such a shock to him that he couldnt bare living anymore and killed himself because it was like his whole world was just took from him. it sucks and it happens. just because it hasnt happened to you doesnt mean it dont happen to others. usually people kill themselves over someone else.

          • Kendall Raine

            May 1, 2014 at 06:27

I’m sorry your friend killed himself, but people aren’t obligated to stay in a relationship JUST because the other person might kill themselves. A woman isn’t a bad person just because she broke up with your friend and he happened to kill himself later, even if it was because of that. What is the alternative, to stay in a loveless marriage just because you’re afraid your husband might off himself? Wouldn’t that cause even worse problems and possibly lead to his suicide anyway?
Threatening to kill yourself in order to prevent someone from leaving you/breaking up with you is actually very manipulative and abusive and if he did that then I wouldn’t blame her for leaving him. But if he didn’t, and he was truly in a bad place and killed himself, nobody is to blame. His problems are valid and he probably needed help, but they’re his problems not hers.
Typically, people DON’T commit suicide just because of a divorce, because people don’t typically commit suicide over ONE single thing at all. Suicide is usually the result of untreated depression or other mental problems that go on and untreated for many years. One traumatic event may be the straw that breaks the camels back and pushes them over the edge, but it’s never the SOLE reason or cause. If all it took was a single bad thing happening to you to commit suicide, then we’d all be dead.

People can commit suicide for ANY reason. Just because it might not make sense, doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. In fact, loads of of guys kill themselves over a divorce. You lose way much more than just your wife you know.

Just because they were getting a divorce doesn’t mean she was a bad person who is just after money. You don’t know the circumstances. People get divorced for all sorts of reasons. If someone “breaks their vows” they usually have a good reason to do so. You can’t expect women to never break off a relationship just because of the off chance the guy will go and kill himself. I used to be in an abusive relationship where he would threaten to kill himself if I dared to break up with him. You can’t be saying I should have stayed with him forever.

People don’t kill themselves over a single event. Usually suicide is due to depression that can be made worse by those events, but people usually don’t kill themselves just because something bad happened to them. It’s usually due to a long series of things spanning over many years. If people killed themselves just because of a single tragedy in their lives then we’d all be dead.

I can’t believe you’re actually blaming HER for his suicide.
People break up and get divorced “all the time”. It’s a part of modern life.
I’m sure they still loved each other to a certin extend. Not every breakup ends in hostile relationships. She has every right to the money.
They shared their lives for a long time and I can’t even imagine how much she must be suffering right now. There is no one to blame here. This stuff is just tragic on every end.
He suffered from depression. That’s what made him do it, not his wife.
Seriously, think before you speak about matters this sensitive.

Always sad when someone decides that they just can’t go on anymore. Remember people there is always hope and it is never as bad as you think it is when you reach your lowest.

My thoughts go out to the daughter most. It has to be hell to live through this.

If he had clinical depression, then that is a mental illness that can make you suicidal without much rhyme or reason, actually. Or rather, it can make every event in your life feel like a painful chore and you just want to end it.

You can not believe in chemistry, too, but I wouldn’t recommend a sulfuric acid bath.
Your “cause” is sometimes just the tiny little mistakes and misfortunes that everyone has every day, and most of us ignore, if we even notice them at all. Mental imbalance can blow these up into huge insurmountable issues that seem impossible to deal with.

Oh depression exists, but to one day to just give up on life? Let me guess, you think we need a pill for everything too? Depression from nothing does not exist, it never has, it never will. Something was the cause, and I was curios as to what.
