Let’s not forget about the Xbox Gold sharing

One of the best announcements made at the Microsoft conference at E3 was that starting soon, still no timeline, families will be allowed to share the Xbox Gold access across members.

For me personally this is a big deal as I have a full Xbox Gold membership on my profile but there is no way I’m paying for a membership for both my kids.

But now when they play only some of the XBLA games are open to them and for others they need to log in on my account to experience the full title. This is partly from my last Xbox being stolen and licensing issues and partly because of the Gold being linked to only my profile.

sharing

They also cannot play online or voice chat unless they are logged in as me.

Microsoft has now stated that this will stop and moving forward if one member is paying for Gold then everyone on the console will be able to experience the benefits of it.

Good move Microsoft.

I wonder how they’re going to check if BillyBob is really my cousin? Or if xxStealthNinjaSniperxx is really my dad?

When you register your family members on the Xbox One, you have to provide a stool and blood sample. MS will then proceed to verify that they are your family.

As for your friends, Kinect 2 will have to check your pinkie finger to see if you still have the pinkie finger bond of friendship with your friend

Or the Kinect will use facial recognition to determine if you share the same features as your parents… It would be awkward if it detects the mailman as your father…

So in the events after a Red-Neck wedding the groom comes running out of his room. Pa! Pa! Mary-Sue is a virgin.
Pa: Well that does it Billy-Bob, if she ain’t good enough for her family she ain’t good enough for ours.

Not even M Night Shyamalan could put in such a jaw-opening and dramatic twist. Most likely I’m Hammersteyn. Same writing style, same passionate desire to see PS4 succeed. Same love for funny pictures.

Hahahah! Oh, I don’t know, Shyamalan is known to be quite inconsistent. I just wonder where Foxhound is, he hasn’t been around since SONY raped MS, in the eye, with a kinetic. EDIT. I see he is back, and even after all the buzz about how SONY killed MS, is going on about how brilliant MS is. Man, what a fanboy.

Don’t be so hard on the kid. Clearly he really likes the xbone, and to see the bone demolished at E3 must have left him scarred, deflated and saddened.

As they say, sharing is caring, but when that sharing can only be done once… someone is going to feel a little unloved… 🙁

It makes sense, why should different people who use the same console each pay to play online with that console.

I wish they had that for the xbox 360. I never really saw the need for a family to have multiple xbox accounts. (Very greedy if you ask me)

Yep, it was confirmed at E3. You only need one PSN+ account and all the subaccounts on your console will work online.

Good on them, sucky to have to pay for MP yet it’s free on PC. Console gamers are getting milked. Banana flavour in your case.

That’s true, I am saddened by PSN going the XBL route, but on the other hand, PS+ has stepped up, and the monthly free games (new games to boot) keeps my sub up.

I’m not expecting an Xbox One hands-on from this site. Sponsored by Sony for E3, over run by 12 year old PS4ndroids.

I hope LG does get some hands on with the xbox one, but I’m sure it’ll be an unbiased report. These guys have come a long way from merely being “gamers with a blog”. They’re now truly one of the premier gaming news sites in Africa (if not the top).

PS: Ok Gavin, you can mail me my cheque 😛

The people who run the site have their own opinions, which they are entitled to.

But they also demonstrate the ability to clearly and honestly review something, perhaps out of their comfort zone or even something they pre-judged. This is just good journalism, pure and simple.

Also Gavin stated in a previous article that if was his own money, he does not think he would buy, but that the Site is getting one for review purposes.

Agreed. There have also been many positive things mentioned by the team in regards to the Xbox One. The only gripe I have heard is in regards to the DRM and swapping of games. This is something MANY have commented on too and in the context of South Africa, SHOULD be raged against.

So far the guys on the ground are quite positive about the Xbox One… But remember we have to be given the opportunity before we can really review it

      Sorry, could not resist.

Yes, your point is taken. Perhaps you, as primary user or owner, must approve said person as “valid and legal entity, allowed to use this game”?
