LittleBigPlanet Coming to the Xbox 360

Is this a subliminal announcement from Microsoft, have they stolen Media Molecule (LBP developers) away from Sony and are about to release it onto the Xbox 360?

No… it’s more than likely simply Microsoft cashing in on the popular LittleBigPlanet theme song, Get it Together by the Go! Team, in an attempt to subvert would be LBP buyers to pick up a Xbox 360 instead.

Think about it, if you see Sackboy running around to this tune and then wander off you may not know how to pick up a copy of the little guy. Then later on this advert comes on and you put two and two together and get 3…

It’s underhanded marketing in my books and really it should have been agreed with the Go! Team that this song may not be used by Microsoft when Sony and Media Molecule agreed to use it for LBP.

Isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing.

Lumines on PSP also used a song from The GO! Team. Anybody tricked into thinking LBP or something related is coming to the Xbox 360 is a bit thick imo.

Can they do that? I thought that Sony would have made precautions so that things like this didn’t happen?

How? The song isn’t owned by Sony, it’s from the Go! Team’s EXCELLENT 2004 album Lightning , Thunder , Strike.

The Go! Team can license the song to whoever they like. 😉

In all honesty I don’t think it was any sort of subversive, underhanded marketing ploy – the ad was probably commissioned by an ad agency that had no clue as to its use in LBP trailers and signed off by an MS marketing exec who didn’t know the association the song had with LittleBigPlanet
