This is a bit of news that put a smile on my face. LittleBigPlanet, home to Sackboy – has had an increase in sales.
Much to everyone’s surprise, the game has had lacklustre sales since its debut in October, despite its incredibly warm critical reception.
A game such as this – charming, fun and creatively empowering – really ought to be getting in to more people’s hands, and more importantly, their PS3s. The good news then, is that it is; The NPD group is reporting that stateside sales of the title have increased dramatically, with more copies being sold in December than in it’s inaugural month.
This brings US sales totals to 611K – which really isn’t too shabby for a new IP, particularly one where the emphasis is on creation as opposed to killing stuff.
