Machinarium, the stunningly beautiful and acclaimed (85/100 on Metacritic) adventure/puzzle game that has graced PCs for such a long while, will finally be making its way to the iPad.
The major issue for it not being released sooner is quite simply that the game was entirely created in a format that Apple doesn’t support on the levels of basically boycotting it. That’s right, we mean Flash.
The boys from Amanita Design are working hard to make its existence on the iPad a reality, and it’s coming very soon.
In December, Amanita Design had the following to say about their plans:
“We want to bring it to iPad, but it won’t happen soon as it’s very complicated to rebuild the game with a completely new engine.”
“Machinarium is built in Flash, and, as you probably know, Apple boycotted this format.”

The good news though is that the work is nearly complete, and we may even have it on iPad as soon as next month. Company founder Jakub Dvorsky says that:
“It’s almost finished, but we still need to fix a lot of small bugs and test it properly. It should be ready during the next month…hopefully.”
Great news. Especially for noobs like me that still haven’t gotten around to playing it even though everyone was telling me to. Now I can, and whilst lying back on my couch to boot.
Maybe it was worth the wait.
