Back in early March I was lucky enough to be whisked away to London in a silver tube of death to get some hands on time with Max Payne 3.
A funny thing happened while I was there though and I was accidently shown a portion of the game that wasn’t for online consumption and therefore I couldn’t talk about it until early April.
During my hands on we teleported to a stage set deep in the favela’s where Max Payne had been jumped by some gang members, beaten up and had his weapons stolen from him.
So there we were walking around the favela looking for a way out and with nothing to our name and we stumbled across a bar. Upon entering the bar I quickly noticed that this was no ordinary bar as one of the doors was open on the side and we could see 2 NPC’s enjoying the more raunchy and adult side of life.
I carried on down the passage way away from the sounds of their horizontal mambo and entered a room filled with tables and patrons watching a strip show up on stage, to be honest I can’t remember if you could see much in the way of nudity but it was definitely not intended for children.
The rest of the stage played out very similarly to my previous walk through, I wasn’t shown how Max managed to get his hands on a gun again to ensure I don’t ruin the story and then it turned into all out war between myself and pretty much everyone in the seedy bar.
From what I saw however you’re not going to be getting anything like The Witcher 2’s level of nudity and sex and that all nudity was very much story based and added to the experience and in setting the tone of the stage.
Max Payne 3 is one of the best looking games of the year and is unbelievably only 3 weeks away from release.
