Here we have some more dodgy MGO video’s coming out.

The quality is pretty awful but what we can see quite blatantly is that there is virtually no stealth or teamplay to this game. You also seem to be able to pump quite a few bullets into the enemy before they die and to be able to heal your team mates by the look of it.

There are another 5 video’s through the link to look through if you are interested.

    I don’t see the point…

A stealth run and gun… it just doesn’t work and nothing that I have seen so far as come close to changing my mind

Suck it up you guys, nothing yet indicates that MGO is a stellar title. Lazy is entitled to his oppinion.

lol, I think the game play looks pretty cool, but, lazy when you said the quality is awful, you weren’t kidding lol.

but I don’t think a stealth online game would be much fun, so maybe this would be cool to play, but this is what i can deduce from this weird thing like creature of a video 😀

Biased against what if I might ask?

Could you tell me what part of the above video looks great?

Why I should get this over lets say Haze or Resistance 2 or hell even Resistance 1?

The question goes to the 🙄 guys as well

Run off back to the Shire then bilbo. Just coz he doesn’t like the look of a game doesn’t mean he’s biased. It just means he doesn’t like the game. If we follow the same logic then since you’re a fan of the game/series and he doesn’t like it your opinion of this site is clearly biased and therefore invalid.

Carry on Lazy – the site is great

I like stealth action games (Played all of the Splinter Cells and most of Hitman and Thief). I played MGS2 and must say that I did not like it at all , I found the control scheme was akward , camera that was more like a platformer than 3PS , and the cinematic presentation got boring real quick.

But to each his own I say(I dig the Total War franchise but I know its not everybody’s cup of tea)

I’m a big fan of the MGS games. That said, the videos do look like cr@p. And the game play could be taken from Counter strike. I see nothing in these vids to get excited about.

Here’s a good preview from Eurogamer:

    http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=93022

    and another from PS3 Fanboy:

    http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/04/20/ps3-fanboy-hands-on-metal-gear-online

Some things I like the sound of:
    1. It seems that your customisation of your character will actually matter, allowing you to really craft an avatar that suites your playing style.
    2. By the sounds of things, the weapon balance is excellent.
    3. Controls are described as Gears of War-like, only more flexibile.
    4. There’s a range of equipment, adding some real tactical possibilities into the mix.
    5. Lots of game modes.

It could go either way, but I’m keeping an open mind until this weekend when the beta will finally get underway. A lot of people do like the online components of Portable Ops and MGS3, and this sounds like a refined version. Maybe it won’t be to everyone’s taste, but develop a fanatical niche following. Who knows at this point?

Any game looks like simple running and gunning if you just see the videos – you can only get to grips with the nuances when you actually play it.
