Yes my favourite topic to hate is back… It was mentioned on this forum a few days ago that the install for MGS4 wasn’t very large and was quite quick to process…
Well it might be quick but 4.6GB is a huge install… Add that to your 5GB Bounce Conspiracy and numerous other smaller installs and you are going to be running out of space very soon…
In other more happy news, MGS4 is going to run in 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p according to the back of the box… It also has support for the DUALSHOCK and is online compatible ;), check after the link for the image

My only thought is why you keep bringing the whole install story up? Its been established a million times before, let it lie!

Oh my goodness. I’m not even a PS3 fanboy, but this 4.6Gb install thing is getting ridiculous.
GET OVER IT!
MGS REQUIRES 4.6GB TO INSTALL!
IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT- DON’T GET IT!

MAc, You can get a DS3 from take2, or DVDcrave, for under R500.
I get the point tho, Bourne + MGS 4 + DMC4 = 20 gig PS3 Full… Now I need to start managing disk space on my console.. not cool.

Actually, it doesn’t keep 4.6GB installed – that’s just the total amount it installs over time, but it uninstalls previous Acts when you get the a new Act. Also, what happened to providing the links you guys got the news from?

the link is there but it’s on the right side of the picture where you can’t see it (or at least on my PC). Whats up with that Lazy?

It states that a minimum of 4.6 HDD space, which means you need a total of 4.6 available… which doesn’t seem to correspond to what your saying unless it actually installs more than that?

No, it’s a dumb idea that shouldn’t be allowed to rest 😛

Why not then just buy a PC?
Upgrading a console is just wrong

I was thinking about this this morning as I installed a demo. Why do you only complain about a console becoming moe like a pc when its a negative. What about all the positive “pc like” attributes? Like installing demo’s, playing on line, firmware upgrades and media support?

I’m glad your thinking about me whenever you look at your console 😉
Actually though you will notice that I have never been a big fan of the media support or the incremental firmware upgrades. I am also not the most avid demo downloader but I think that is still very much in the console realm..
I like the once a year big patch and the playing online though are fantastic though..
I was never the greatest console fan until the online ability was introduced to be honest, I have always been more of a multi-player gamer and used to be a huge PC fanboy…
As for the software upgrades, well I am a software developer by day so it’s in my nature 😛
All I want is to be able to play any console game whenever I want without having to worry about installs or space or anything like that

Dont get me wrong, I dont like the installs either, but ultimately there aint much I can do about it. You have established your point on numerous occasions, I think atleast for now you need to let it lie for a bit!

R1200 for a hardrive is alot less than a PC 🙂 plus the pc will be outdated in 6 months anyway 🙂

Then your really not going to like the article coming later 😥
It isn’t a complete negative about installs if that helps
