Mirror's Edge: First in-game footage

Ok, this game is looking really hot.

The developers of Mirror’s Edge said that they really wanted to make a game that emphasised what it would be like to really play a game from a first person perspective, and to make things even more interesting, Parkour (also known as Urban Running) is involved.

The first in-game footage was shown off at the Sony Press Conference in London and I have to say that it’s looking really great, if you are able, do yourself the favour of checking it out in HD.

Eat your heart out, Altair.

[Ed] I also love that fact that this next-gen game isn’t a blurry brown colour. It reminds me a bit of Crackdown with it’s styling.

Looks good. Does anybody know if it’s just running around and jumping, or will there be baddies and guns and stuff?

I saw a baddie getting hit with a gun in this video.

Yea, but he could have been some security guard trying to stop you from jumping off the roof.

Yes there are guns, but the developer says they’re more a case of “temporary power-ups” rather than the core mechanic.

this looks d@mn interesting. I’ve always hated “platforming” scenes in first person games. (Half Life is VERY guity of this), but it looks like DICE may have got it right.

Definitely one to keep on the radar.

If they do like Assassins Creed, where you guide the intent not the actual action, then I think it’s going to be awesome!
