Gamesindustry is claiming that they have been given data showing a 178% increase in PS3 sales since the 40Gb model was introduced in the UK.
The sales for the week were the third highest since launch, but that is all the information we got really. The Wii beat the PS3 and the PS3 beat the 360.
However without actual figures it really is all meaningless. The fact that sales have done well since a price drop is not news, the fact that a lot more software has also been sold since the uptake in hardware sales is also nothing interesting.
Why won’t the UK release real figures like Japan and the US do? It really does help put things into perspective.
