Next Mortal Kombat To Be Rated "M"

With the recent financial problems that Midway have had, many of us were wondering if another Mortal Kombat would ever see the light of day.

I was a massive Mortal Kombat fan back in the day, but lost interest when the new fighting system and styles were introduced, so I never bought any of them and gave the recent DC tie-in a skip as well.

There is no indication of what they will be doing with the next MK game, but games like Street Fighter IV have proven that an update of a classic game can work out pretty damn well. The good news, is that co-creator Ed Boon recently posted on Twitter the following:

@McCarron U r absolutely right. People want an M-rated MK….dammit we will give them an M-rated MK.

So from that alone it looks like the next Mortal Kombat will be going back to it’s good ol’ super violent self. I just hope that they can somehow give us a Mortal Kombat that will take us back to the glory days of what it used to be.

Mk vs DC is a great fighter b.t.w. , do give it a try.
But yeah , i’m missing the blood and gore.

you mean: “take us back to the GORY days of what it used to be” 😀

It’s not like games need to be violent, BUT MK was all about violent, it was the main feature! Without it, it would be like Need for Speed in slow cars or Dead Space on the beach versus cute crabs.

  • Dunno. Eversince they went the whole 3D route,it just
never felt like MK to me anymore.

These days Kratos is doing a better head rip than Sub Zero.
They need to bring back the realistic gore element if they want to succeed.
