Overwatch fans want Terry Crews to voice Doomfist

It took months of speculation before the reveal of Sombra, and now the internet have set their sights on Doomfist, the next possible hero to join the ranks of Overwatch. There have been a number of hints leading to the arrival of the new character, but for the first time the internet isn’t going wild over a possible reveal. Instead, they’re pushing for Terry Crews, and his new-found love for gaming, to voice the character – and he wants to do it too.

Crews has recently taken the PC gaming world by storm after they helped him build a new PC for himself and his children, and has been posting all over social media (and Reddit) about hislove for gaming – specifically Overwatch. It all began with a Reddit thread titled “If Doomfist becomes a hero I’d be so hyped if Terry Crews voice acted for him,” to which Crews responded “I would LOVE TO PLAY DOOMFIST.” His use of upper case is perfect – Terry Crews speaks in upper case in real life too. If we take a look at the slew of images posted all around Numbani, we can even say Terry Crews kind of looks like Doomfist? His big, strong, beefy physique is well known throughout the internet from his whistle dance in White Chicks, or his Old Spice adverts. In my heart, Terry Crews is Doomfist.

old spice

While the internet is going crazy for Crews, not much is actually known about Doomfist. We’ve yet to start digging deeper into Overwatch to find all the clues, as we did with Sombra. Our first taste of Doomfist came from the Overwatch launch trailer where our two young Museum-goers talk about how his one punch could level a city. Near the end, our young hero uses the fist to send Widowmaker and Reaper on the retreat. This leads us to believe that Doomfist is either in retirement, or hiding – since not much is known of the whereabouts of Team Overwatch. Numbani has offered us the most hints. The payload has one Doomfist incase in what looks like amber? And three posters allude to three separate Doomfist characters – “The Saviour” Adhabu Ngumi, “The Scoure” Akinjide Adeyemi, and “The Successor” Terry Crews?

Doomfist

While the internet is pushing for Crews to play Doomfist, it’s uncertain whether he will actually be a playable character. Doomfist has had an ominous presence throughout the story of Overwatch, but the thought that there will be a successor leaves much to be desired. Blizzard have also not responded to the Internet’s latest fixation on Crews, but if they did… that would be a dead giveaway.

BT Games is only good for the ad-hoc “buy 2nd hand PS4/Xbox titles”…then again, I saw Uncharted 4 going for R630 “used” in Forest Hill this past weekend. Absolute no shame 🙁

I like checking for “bargains” in the used bin when I am in the mall, but I don’t fancy their “new & improved” prices haha. I’ll leave that for the enlightened parents and kiddies which are bound to be around the corner

Once I found Assassins Creed 1 in the second hand bin, it was more expensive than the same title *new…

When I asked why 2nd hand was more pricey than a new copy, I got a shrug….

Hahaha can only imagine that scenario. I’d rather support a one man band setup, owned by a gamer who actually knows a thing or two about market related prices, “what’s hot & what’s not” and all that, before getting shafted. I have come to terms with being a game collector and not only a gamer. I find it quite hard to resist a good game at an excellent price xD
