HardReset

Hey PC Gamers! Here’s something for you to look forward to that isn’t a pared-down, terrible console port. Yeah, you’re getting a new exclusive game in the form of Hard Reset, a gritty, cyberpunk “dark sci-fi” FPS that fuses elements from genre staples like Blade Runner and The Matrix to give you a pure single player experience.

It’s got some pedigree behind it too. Developer Flying Wild Hog, a new Polish all-star studio, is comprised of members from People can Fly (Painkiller, Bulletstorm) CD Projekt Red (The Witcher 2) and City Interactive (Sniper: Ghost Warrior). Impressively, it’s running on built-from-scratch proprietary engine called Road Hog; no mean feat for a team of just 35 developers.

What’s it about then? Here’s what the press release says : In the only remaining human city of Bezoar, Major Fletcher, an Army Combat Veteran and soldier of the CLN, is dragged into a conflict between two of mankind’s greatest enemies. He is to discover that nothing is what it seems to be.

The game will be out, incredibly, in just two months time and though there’s no word if the game will get an official, boxed release it’ll likely be available through your digital distribution channel of choice.

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
