20 second read

Well this came out of the blue.

Sony have announced today that Phil Harrison, the president of SCE Worldwide, will step down on Friday.

Sony have not given a reason for this departure and is currently refusing comment.

The current rumour is that he is moving to Atari.

When Sony release more information I will be posting it.

Why is it intriguing, or why is he leaving?

He was unhappy with the way Sony Japan responded to his calls to promote casual gaming, before the Wii came out even. Now in hindsight that was a huge mistake by Sony.

At Atari i imagine he will have much more say in what goes on there, plus they are in seriously deep poo there and need his services badly, so the money must be amazingly good.

Leave while the shares are valued high? Does he know something we don’t know?

Bill Gates, Peter Moore, Phil Harison, Crazy Ken. It’s seems like Nintendo is the only company thats holding on to execs.

No, not really, but does that sound familiar? :p

He been with them for something like 15 years, he’s probably just bored.

The real reason is he couldn’t face it
that Sony is giving scholarships to girl gamers.

for him it is a man’s world so he left.

@Evilredzombie- Don’t I justify my comments with enough proof and stability? What does gamescore points have to do with it? It doesn’t make a person with a high gamescore any smarter than someone with a low gamescore.

I have played about 11 games on the 360. From sim to rpg, from FPS to 3rd person. I know my software from open source(big up from the students!) to ubuntu. I know my hardware from a single core to quad core and even V8(Intel). Anybody excited about AMD’s spider platform as I am? 😀

@ Slippy – Nintendo lost three key execs when they moved offices. This is sad. I liked Phil. Oh well.

@Evilredzombie, I do have to say that I don’t think it matters how many games a person has played. We can all read the same information and gain informed opinions without playing everything…

Science and religion are both perfect examples of this being the case.

I still don’t see what games has do with experience?

@lazy i sorta disagree ….if your read about a game and play a game there is a difference… 10000 screenshots and the same amount of gameplay footage cant compare to actualy playing the game…

So you believe that people who dont own more than a certain number of games don’t make valid comments here? Does somebody have to own 350 LCD tv’s to make a comment about an LCD tv? And you tell me not to get touchy. Well, I’m not. R599ea game does not come easily over 16 months. What’s that R6000 I have spent on games! To me thats alot of money. Go debate with some rich kid that owns 250 games but doesn’t even know what HDR is. Peace out!

    @ FOX
no, um well yes.. U have to have played a game to make a valid comment. u can make a assumption…Can you say that Resistance is a crap game or that heavenly sword is bad or that the sixaxes is wrthless? if you havnt used it and know the feel u cant.
Look dude im not a kid anymore and have been working for a while however 600 is stil allot to spend. I buy most my games pre played or trade my finished games for others. I dont play PC games and my opinion is that pc gaming suck, if played a few…

We are both quite sure of our choices and opinions..

Do you know one of the rules of making a deduction is through an assumption? I have done Logic and Language so it’s a method used to reasoning. It’s used in artificial intelligence.

@Lazy- This must be good for your ratings? lol

Lawyers, philosophers and psychologists have been using Language, Proof and Logic through assumptions to prove many theorems that where brought forward. That’s how come stuff like cross questioning is allowed and is effective. Just some more info on that subject 😀

As a question: according to ERZ, if someone has only played, say 3 games, say Gears, CoD4, and Halo, are you saying they’re not allowed to have an opinion on whether footage of an upcoming shooter looks cool or not?

I have played 7 games on the PS3. Friends have it and there are demos at the malls. Go back to the article on SIXAXIS and read my comment. I clearly remember stating that I have used the PS3 controller.

The reason why I chose the 360 is because at the time I was looking to buy a console, the PS3 was retailing at R6799. One shop had it for R7899.

While I agree with you z, the power of the internet is that, without access to a PS3, Fox can hop over to Eurogamer, Metacritic or any other respected site, and see the comparative reviews of those games in order to form his opinion as well.

Admittedly those things get blown massively out of proportion, and don’t even bring dubious sites into it like SDF or SPG into the discussion (All 360 sites are TOTALLY unbiased 😉 )

Basically you often have to have an opinion based on reliable sources, I mean imagine what would happen if government never listened to those in the know?

… oh wait, uh yeah, enough said … 😉
