File this in the rumour section (see the new tag), but apparently T3 magazine was wandering around the CES show and managed to have a chat with an industry insider.
Apparently Sony is planning on releasing a new slimline version of the PS3 later this year, it’s not like they don’t have a history of doing this but to be honest I highly doubt it will happen so soon into the PS3’s lifespan.
The T3 guys put together a mock design of what it may look like and to be honest I don’t like it…. I am not a fan of vertical consoles and this will look silly horizontal. What is suprising though is that I got this tip from our resident Xbox 360 fanboy Doobiwan, who thinks it looks pretty good.

na… that mock up just looks silly… and do you know how badly that things gonna over heat??? I mean, My big ps3 get freaken hot when i play for about 2-4 hours… And it’s got big fans and there’s loads of ventilation… I mean…. the air it spews out it hot enough to make you pull your hand away… and how the hell are they gonna fit a hdd, cpu, gpu, mobo and fans in that??? I mean, it’s gonna be worse then the ps2 slimline: eye sore, over heats like a bitch, and just not were the money…
