Ha ha Ash Ketchum! You may have defeated my Bidoof, BUT THIS ISN’T EVEN ITS FINAL FORM! MEGA BIDOOF, GOOOOOO!

I’ve got to be honest, Mega-Evolutions for Pokémon sounds kind of ridiculous. At that point, I also realise that for the last decade, I’ve been playing a series of games that involves young children capturing ancient monsters that can control the weather, space/time and reality itself.

So in retrospect, this idea suits the game perfectly when you kick things up to over 9000, and I’m kind of eager to see how this impacts the online battling aspect of Pokémon. A bunch of Mega Evolutions have already been revealed, but apparently, there’s quite a few more waiting to be shown off.

A bunch of new trademarks discovered by All About Pokémon via Nowgamer reveals that there’s going to be quite a few broken Pokedex scouters when the game rolls around. The following Pokémon have been trademarked, lending a little bit of credence to this rumour:

  • Charizard
  • Blastoise
  • Gengar
  • Kangaskhan
  • Pinsir
  • Jynx
  • Gyarados
  • Aerodactyl
  • Mewtwo
  • Ampharos
  • Scizor
  • Houndoom
  • Tyranitar
  • Heracross
  • Gardevoir
  • Absol
  • Medicham
  • Banette
  • Latias
  • Latios
  • Aggron
  • Abomasnow

That list makes plenty of sense. Mega Evolution capable Pokémon so far are only fully evolved, or non-evolution appicable. So seeing Charizard and Blastoise up there makes sense. Take it with a pinch of salt, but I’d be plenty keen to see what a Mega-Evolved Tyranitar looks like when the game arrives in October.
