PS3 Home to be released in September?

So the UK Playstation website has a release date for Home listed… It says it will be released sometime between July 2007 and September 2007… well it’s got two weeks left :)..

Somehow I don’t expect it to be released in September but I have been wrong before and the rumours of Sony trying to hijack the Halo 3 launch have already been doing the rounds…

I still think they would be stupid to try and compete directly against Halo 3 with anything at the moment but hey I don’t run a multi billion dollar corporation (yet) so what do I know…

    hmm… “Sims On-line” vs Halo 3. That’s like starting a food fight during a nuclear launch 🙂

meh! home is a daft idea anyway. Second Life tried it and failed horribly. There are loads of members registered, but most go on, create their persona, house whatever, then get bored and leave.

Milesh I have always thought Home was a complete waste of time but I am slowly changing my mind…

I wanted to organise an online tournament that would be played in one day. However the problem is if I need to play someone after they finish their game I don’t know when they are going to be ready. If we could all be in one apartment it would be much easier to organise….

I think that UK playstation website is seriously wrong. According to Sony’s Q&A section they are currently running the open beta phase, with it only going fully live in October.

Also just like Second Life you have to pay real money to play, hmmm definitely not for me. Whatever happened to the PS Network being free to use?

Firstly Second Life a failure??? WTF???
That game has a higher real world revenue than most third world countries!
Secondly since when is home gonna have a subscription?
Sure there will be exclusive pay “events” and pay content but as far as I understand it, it will be free to use.

I stand corrected and my opinion was based on people I know who used Second Life stating that while they have a few million registered users, only a few are actually on there having left it once the initial novelty has worn off, leaving the world to be weirdly deserted with more shops than people.
