PS3 'infinitely more fun' than Wii60

Howard Stringer has been kind enough to show us that Sony hasn’t lost its arrogance…. He has come out and said to the Guardian newspaper in the UK

“The PlayStation 3 will come into its own because its [high-end games] are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting,”

Must be all those 4D graphics hey Ken Howard?

I would like to put this down to a cultural communication problem… but he isn’t Japanese?

So which high end games on the PS3 are infinitely more fun, demanding or exciting?

I really dont get what is wrong with his statement. He is the CEO of Sony he is allowed to have product confidence!
Every company spokesman in the world up talks their product, isnt that kinda there job afterall?

There is a difference between having confidence in a product and lying. It will never be infinitely better… This is just one of those things where Sony should learn their lesson… Same as Guerilla ‘touching’ up photo’s after that trailer incident…

I suppose he should apologise for this horrendous statement….come on man, everyone knows that you should take comments like this with a grain of salt.

Dude, but thats his opinion, what would it sound like if he said, “oh the ps3 i kinda better than the wii”.
Feels like you are grasping at straws for some negative ps3 news!

lol, sorry not happy with people lying blatantly…

If you checked though I have posted more positive PS3 news this week than any other console… This however I feel goes to the root of why so many people dislike Sony.

It’s a blatant lie and is not acceptable. IMO

It is a subjective statement, not a lie.

There is nothing subjective about ‘infinitely’, it’s impossible… something like 4D 😀

Either way though, which game can he be talking about?

I just think it’s the same as the MD of BMW SA saying that BMW vehicles are the best out there, when it’s quite obvious that it’s actually Audi 😛

It’s the same as a Shark supporter saying that his team is best, when clearly the Bulls are. 🙂

Okay… going to stop now before someone finds out where i live.

Thanks for enlightening us feeble minded folk JP. How could we have missed that….it doesn’t matter what adjective he used, it’s a very subjective comment, typical of any CEO in charge of a consumer brand. It simply isn’t news

Either way, it sounds arrogant, which is fine. We know exactly where that arrogance has been getting them. Last.

I don’t like buying things from companies that don’t show appreciation for their customers, because you know they’ll screw you later (rootkit, Memory Stick pricing etc) I had the K850i pretty high on my shopping list, but I think I’ll start looking around again.

Lazy I cant believe you are stooping to accepting JP’s words to back up your own.
Naudran summed it up for me with his comment on BMW.
Who cares if he said infinately.
This is all very silly, people back their products all the time its called a sales pitch. You call it a lie, that means its a fact that it isnt infinately better, that means you can supply physical proof. But you cant, cos its just his opinion!

Nor can he supply proof that it is infinitely better. Which makes it a very subjective opinion indeed, that can’t be backed up by proof.

To answer your question Lazy, “which PS3 games will be infinitely more fun?” Oh, I don’t know…Metal Gear 🙂 ? I’m just saying. The adjective ‘infinite’ may be extreme, but I’m just saying 😀 .

Sony CEO says its “infinately” better ?

Quite clear from many of the comments here most of you not in the sales “game” or business.

This is marketing/sales, which some people might see as deceitful or arrogance.

I doubt the MS CEO will be saying he is arrogant. He will say how can i better his comment to make my product look better.

In the sales and marketing “game” this would be classed as misleading and would be in front of the Advertising board in record time :p

@Pillsbury… MGS is stil coming to the 360 😀 The rumour that I just won’t let die…

MGS is only “infinitely more fun” for those who give a rats bum in the first place and can put up with the inane gameplay and bizarre story line. Syphon Filter was always better. :p 😉
