The PS3 has a new update waiting for you when you connect.

Sony is continuing with their staggered updates and now we have version 1.90 available. Unfortunately no ingame XMB yet, that is expected in version 2 and so is customised soundtracks..

• Ability to rearrange games on the XMB
• Option menu now includes “eject disk”
• Press triangle to eject games/CDs/movies in the XMB
• XMB backgrounds
• Change the folder classification
• Emoticons
• Change CD output to 44.1/88.2/176.4kHz
• Force 24Hz output for Blu-ray over HDMI
• Change PS3 video settings in-game
• “Bit Mapping” in the “Music Setting”
• Save AVCHD type animations from a Memory Stick
• Change settings like upscaling while playing PS and PS2 games
• Add bookmarks
• Web browser security function in the browser’s tool section
• Avatar moves during audio visual chat

I like the ability to change backgrounds and rearrange games but the rest all seem quite pointless to me… I am not a fan of these constant updates and would prefer Sony to release larger updates more sparingly…

Personal opinion though I guess…

Ja, these huge updates are a pain for us bandwidth constrained S’africans. I’m hoping that a future patch will add an incremental patch feature.

Not yet… still waiting for a SA price drop and a worthwhile game…

R6500 is a lot of money. Are you offering one? 🙂
