PS3 vs Wii vs Xbox 360 – Games Only

Someone with a lot of time on their hands and an intense dislike for Gamers-Creed has put together a list of the top selling games per platform and their MetaCritic.com scores to find out which console has the best quality games. Now remember that is the primary reason we buy a console.. The results may be suprising…

The results are as follows

Wii – Average 75.55%
PS3 – Average 81.44%
Xbox 360 – Average 87.375%

But that is only the rating of the top 10 sellers which really is not a fair rating. What really is required is a comparison over the consoles entire catalogue.

Wii:
+80% = 6 titles to choose from
+90% = 2 titles to choose from
PS3
+80% = 18 titles to choose from
+90% = 1 title to choose from
X360
+80% = 58 titles to choose from
+90% = 7 titles to choose from

So I think for now it is blatantly obvious which console has the better games. Which console had the highest rated game however?

You need to look at the percentage of top rated games vs. total number of games available per console, otherwise the comparison is unfair.

Not true papa, The percentage rating is based on the top 10 games only. So whether the console had 500 or 10 games the rating is fair….

I agree with the total number of games but since we do buy these things to play games the lack of games of one console really is no excuse.

Who’s fault is it the PS3 has currently a serious lack of games? Sony are fully to blame for not making more developers jump on the gaming bandwagon. Hope by 2008 there is a game worth buying for the PS3 that trumps its X360 version or is really a hot exclusive.
